Broadcast Music, Inc. is a performance rights organization in the United States. It collects blanket license fees from businesses that use music, entitling those businesses to play any songs from BMI's repertoire of over 17 million compositions.
Since its founding in 1939, BMI’s goal has been to respect, nurture and represent songwriters so that their music can be heard. BMI has always supported the relationship between art and commerce and continues to help aspiring songwriters through workshops, showcases and our website while offering diverse award-winning content to our licensees.
BMI supports its songwriters, composers and publishers by taking care of an important aspect of their careers – getting paid. BMI supports businesses and organizations that play music publicly by offering blanket music licenses that permit them to play over 18.7 million musical works. Both relationships save each time and money.
